What is Tecnimede Coughgrip for?

Tecnimede Coughgrip is used to relieve symptoms associated with colds and flus associated with fever, irritable cough, runny nose, fever and general pain or discomfort.

Who can take Tecnimede Coughgrip Oral Solution?

Coughgrip sachets can be taken by adults and children over 6 years of age.

How to take Coughgrip

Coughgrip are sachets to be taken orally. The contents of the sachet should be poured into half a glass of water and stirred and taken immediately afterwards, without waiting for the product to settle to the bottom of the glass. Children from 6 to 12 years of age (weight between 21.5 kg and 43 kg): 1 sachet every 6-8 hours according to need (3 or 4 times a day).

Over 12 years of age (weight over 44 kg): 2 sachets every 6-8 hours (3 or 4 times a day), according to need.

Contraindications

• If you are allergic to the active substances or to any of the other ingredients of this medicinal product (listed in section 6).
• If you have severe liver or kidney disease.
• If you suffer from respiratory failure or severe lung disease.
• If you have an asthmatic cough or a cough with a lot of secretions.
• If you are or have recently been treated within the last two weeks with other medicines, such as medicines for the treatment of depression, Parkinson's disease or the treatment of other diseases (monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).Inhibitors such as fluoxetine or paroxetine, or with bupropion, which is a smoking cessation medicine, or with linezolid, which is an antibiotic (see section "Other medicines and Coughgrip").
• Children under 6 years of age should not take this medicine.

Side effects

• Rarely, nightmares, insomnia, excitement, nervousness or restlessness (psychomotor hyperactivity), more common in children and the elderly, may occur. Dizziness and hypotension, especially in the elderly.
  
  
• Very rarely, gastrointestinal discomfort, such as abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and indigestion (dyspepsia), confusion, dizziness, visual disturbances, increased sensitivity to sunlight, dry mouth, sore throat and difficulty urinating. Skin rashes, severe skin reactions and severe allergic reactions such as anaphylactic reaction, hypersensitivity, angioedema (swelling of certain areas of the skin), pruritus, urticaria, rash, allergic dermatitis, as well as increased transaminases have also been reported. High doses or prolonged treatment are toxic to the liver.

Precautions

• Do not take more than the recommended amount of medicine.
• Chronic alcoholics should be careful not to take more than 6 sachets per day (2 g of paracetamol).
• Concomitant use of this medicine with other medicines containing paracetamol should be avoided, as high doses may result in liver damage. Do not use more than one paracetamol-containing medicine without consulting a doctor.
• In case of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency (may cause haemolytic anaemia).

Composition of Tecnimede Coughgrip Oral Solution, 10 powder sachets

The active substances are: 300 mg paracetamol, 15 mg dextromethorphan (as hydrobromide) and 2 mg chlorphenamine (as maleate).
The other ingredients (excipients) are: anhydrous colloidal silica, anhydrous citric acid, sucrose, saccharin sodium, anhydrous sodium cyclamate, orange flavouring.

Pharmaceutical advice

Do not take for more than 3 days in a row and do not take more than 4 doses a day. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
