Yodermin Antiseptic 125 Ml
What is it and what is it for?
Yodermin Antiseptic in 125 ml bottle is a veterinary product used for the treatment and disinfection of superficial wounds, navels in newborns and the udders of females during lactation or after milking. It can also be used to sterilise medical instruments and to clean the area where a clinical intervention is to be performed.
Proper cleaning of udders and umbilicus in various species is important to avoid dangerous infections. With the use of this product, the risk of contamination is reduced, which can lead to pathologies that in some cases are lethal. When used for disinfection during surgical procedures, it minimises the possibility of sepsis in the area.
It has been shown to be more effective than traditional soap and water washes. In addition, it is easy to apply because it concentrates all the elements necessary for proper grooming in a single product. It is suitable for horses, goats, rabbits, cattle, dogs, cats, pigs and sheep. It can be used for almost all animals that need this special care, always under the supervision of a veterinary professional.
Its main active ingredient, povidone, is an unstable iodine substance with surface-active qualities. Although its iodine concentration is relatively low, its healing powers are released in this solution. It has a high spectrum of germicidal activity that can be effective against bacteria, spores, fungi, viruses and protozoa.
This product has the same field of action as elemental iodine, but without the disadvantage of hypersensitivity and staining of the skin.
Who is it suitable for?
Its use is appropriate for animals whose owners seek to provide adequate grooming of superficial wounds, navels of puppies and udders of females during lactation or milking. It is also suitable for veterinarians who need to sterilise their instruments and disinfect the areas to be treated.
